iOS & Web: Pharmacy Closures

A Medly Project

In August 2022, Medly was going through pharmacy changes and closed several locations. This project was to inform patients who were affected in those areas.

The problem

This was in an effort to provide affected patients that their prescriptions would be filled at another Medly location or provide them with ample time to transfer their prescriptions to another pharmacy.

The audience

Medly patients who filled at the locations that were closed or planned to close soon.

Team roles

I led design for iOS and the web application and worked closely with both development teams.

The process

This project came up shortly after the first round of layoffs, leaving the B2C team from three product designers to just me. Several other impacting roles were eliminated during this time too.

My first step in this process was getting the lay of the land in someone else’s design file so I could follow the same parameters that the development team had been following in the last year. Once I was familiar, I began to work with engineers on both iOS & the web team to confirm that I was calling out any pharmacy-closure-related information in the correct areas within the respective applications.

The outcome

Unfortunately, I did not see the pharmacy closure feature launch during my tenure.
