eComm: My Account & My Orders

A Medly Project

Build a new Account Management and Order Management experience that i) allows users to view all information associated with their Account and Orders and ii) matches the look and feel of the rest of the e-commerce site experience (i.e. matches the Medly branding).

The problem

  1. If users are unable to view/edit the user data associated with their Account, they are more likely to i) be weary of Medly (i.e. where are the personal details I gave you when I signed up?) and ii) contact the customer service in order to confirm/modify their existing data.

  2. If the UX/UI used for the Account/Order Management experience is noticeably different from the rest of the site experience, users will question whether their personal data is being safely handled by Medly and effectively question the legitimacy of Medly as a brand.

The audience

Medly patients and consumers.

Team roles

I was design lead, working closely with the Product Manager, Lead Software Development Manager, and Senior UX Writer.

The process

This project came up shortly after the dedicated e-commerce product designer had left and so I decided to step in to help.

My first step in this process was getting to know the e-commerce product itself and understanding how the team operated. In tandem, I was comparing Medly’s competitors and other successful e-commerce experiences to make sure we implement the best experience we could for our consumers.

Throughout the design phase, I worked closely with the Product Manager, Lead Software Development Manger, other engineers, and the Senior UX Writer to make sure we wouldn’t run into any further limitations. If we did, I would make adjustments.

The outcome

Unfortunately, I did not see the My Account & My Orders feature launch for e-commerce during my tenure.
